Sin\u00e9ad O’Connor and band performing<\/p><\/div>
\nThe last live music performance I would see for almost 2 years was Sin\u00e9ad O\u2019Connor, performing in our little podunk town of Santa Cruz on February 12, 2020. This brings up multiple forms of grief. Sin\u00e9ad is not going to be gracing the Rio Theater any more in this lifetime. Even at the time I was aware that seeing Sin\u00e9ad was a rare opportunity – in retrospect it is much more bittersweet.<\/p>\n

Show was very lovely, but low key. She started right at 8:00pm, and we were leaving the theater at 9:10pm. She sang with plenty of emotion, and her energy felt very clear and grounded. Sin\u00e9ad and the band sounded great, and they looked like they were enjoying themselves.<\/p>\n

The band consisted of bass and drums, two guitar players, and keyboards. The sound was full and satisfying. Sin\u00e9ad had good rapport with the two guitar players, and they joined in on vocals, including one pretty a capella number. In my notes I wrote that the band is 70s style rock, a la Delany & Bonnie. Well folks, that\u2019s all I have to say for now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
